This July, be a part of history! A stacked all-star faculty led by Chad LB, the Global Jazz Workshop boasts a full week of clinics, masterclasses, ensemble sessions and performances — located at the Hyatt Regency in the center of the Live Music Capitol of the World: Austin, Texas!

We’ll discuss everything ranging from improvisation, theory and musicianship to the essential knowledge needed to navigate the music business.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The Global Jazz Workshop will serve musicians of all ages, instruments and skill levels! Musicians will be grouped into ensembles according to their skill level and programming will cater to musicians ranging from developing improvisers to professional musicians looking to hone their craft!

CHAD LB — Artistic director

Hailed as a "Sax Phenom" by the New York Daily News, Chad LB is a featured artist on 2 GRAMMY winning albums, and has toured through 6 continents playing venues from Carnegie Hall to the Super Bowl. As a bandleader, he’s headlined jazz venues and festivals around the world, and as a soloist he’s joined acts like Chris Botti, Arturo Sandoval, and Christian McBride.

No stranger to the big screen, Chad has been featured on numerous TV shows with pop icons like Taylor Swift, rock legends like Don Henley, as well as the Hollywood film, “Here Today” with Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish.


CHRISTIAN WIGGS — EXECUTIVE director

An emerging polymath in the music industry, Christian Wiggs is a vocalist, bandleader, lyricist, producer, director, artist manager, educator, record label executive, podcast host and founder of Bandstand Presents.

Born to a choreographer, Wiggs’ immersion into theatre and the jazz tradition has led to a remarkable career as an artist, leading and featured with ensembles on prolific stages such as Birdland, Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club and SXSW.

Producing chart topping records for the most sought-after names in jazz including Emmet Cohen (JazzWeek #1), Benny Benack (JazzWeek #2) and Steven Feifke (JazzWeek #8), Wiggs manages GRAMMY and Tony Award-winner Bryan Carter and Chad LB.


nathan graybeal — assistant director

Nathan Graybeal is a young artist from North Carolina, most well-known for his YouTube persona "Saxologic". Originally an avid drawer then animator, he has transferred his love for art to saxophone. He spreads his infectious passion to inspire others in finding the joy of improving in music through online content.

Nathan obtained a bachelor’s degree in both jazz and classical saxophone performance from East Carolina University and a master’s degree in studio jazz performance from the University of Miami.

He currently earns a living through YouTube Adsense by acquiring an average range of 200,000 - 600,000 views to his channel every month, affiliate marketing with his numerous saxophone endorsers/sponsors, and selling digital pedagogical eBooks which have amassed over 2,500 sales worldwide.

ALEJANDRO SIFUENTES — CONTENT MANAGER

Alejandro Sifuentes is a versatile creative professional with a passion for visual storytelling and design. Establishing his talent in video editing, motion graphics, camera operation, and graphic design.

With a rich background encompassing roles at esteemed organizations like Bandstand Presents, CrossCutPictures, Simulated Wood Grain Cabinet, and L2 Productions, Alejandro has demonstrated a knack for elevating projects across various mediums, from television to corporate videos and beyond.

Astrid asmundsson — DIRECTOR OF MEDIA

Astrid Asmundsson is a video editor, videographer, and photographer originally from New York City and currently based in the Greater Boston area. In 2019, she graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film & Media Arts.

Astrid has a background as a musician, which has informed her perspective and primary pursuits in video & photo: she has edited and/or shot dozens of live performances, recording sessions, and music educational videos. Astrid has worked in a video/photo capacity with organizations including Jazz Lesson Videos, the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, ShapeShifter Lab, City Parks Foundation SummerStage, Mandorla Music, and Historic New England, among others.

IZEL GAITAN — COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Izel Gaitan is an effective communicator with strong writing and content skills. She studies at East Texas Baptist University where she majors in Digital Arts with a minor in Photography. From the Austin area, she serves as an Operations Manager for Bandstand Presents where she helps with the communication between producers and clients to facilitate their performances as well as accommodate the Artist with social media posts.


In addition, she is known for her work in ETBU’s Communications Department where she served as the Art Director for “The Beacon”, ETBU’s Literary Journal. Izel is a notable hard worker and creative thinker who makes an impact in her work every day.
